2007 Ringneck Rally for Youth
The Red Cedar Women's Pheasants Forever Chapter 631 has begun this new venture to step up our past Youth Day to a new Ringneck Rally. This event will be held rain or shine between the hours of 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Our chapter has been established for the past nine years in the Dunn County Area. We are reaching out for some local support for setting up exhibits to make the event a success. This event is provided at no cost to all. All varieties of exhibits are encouraged and desired, there is plenty of room. If your idea is educational, environmental, ecological, and or entertaining, the children will enjoy it. We would like to know if your organization would like to be part of the new venture. Volunteering for the day, donating for children's raffles, or cash donations are additional ways that your group may participate.

Exciting news to start out with; this event will be attended and filmed by Minnesota Bound for a show later this year. Along with that we are thrilled to announce Gander Mountain as a new sponsor to the event along with all our past sponsors and donors.

Once again, the Red Cedar Women's Pheasants Forever chapter will provide food, prizes, and crafts. Your participation in our past banquets has helped make this rally possible for the youth in Dunn County and surrounding areas. Our greatest pleasure is to watch the smiling, laughing faces of the children.

Feel free to contact Red Cedar Women's PF if you have questions or need a member to attend your next meeting; Jody Schutts 715-235-1512; Christine Wildes 715-505-4522 or email Christine: Christinew@wwt.net. We would like to have a reply in the next few weeks if possible to keep our wheels moving.

Thank you for your help and support in the past. We are looking forward to a successful rally on September 22, 2007!

Thank you,

Jody Schutts

Committee Members: Jody Schutts, Lori Ross, Dianne Bauer, Mary Langford, Darcy Manor, Lynda Bundy, Annette Knutson, Chris Widmar, Lacey Hoyt, Rami Hainstock, and Christine Wildes

Pheasants Forever believes the future of conservation and our hunting heritage depends upon today's youth having the desire and opportunities to carry on the ethical traditions of this organization. At both the national and chapter level, Pheasants Forever is investing in sound programs enriched with events such as youth mentor hunts, conservation events and habitat projects.

The Leopold Education Project (LEP) is PF's way of providing conservation education for its members, as well as formal and informal educators. The LEP is an innovative, interdisciplinary educational program based on the classic writings of the renowned conservationist, Aldo Leopold. The LEP was developed to teach the public about humanity's ties to the natural world and to provide leadership in the effort to conserve and protect the earth's natural resources.

Youth are invited become a part of the PF Ringnecks Program, which is dedicated to introducing youth to hunting, shooting sports and outdoor conservation through youth events, education, community service and cooperation with both governmental and non-governmental partnerships. Through a variety of programs, youth gain knowledge, learn skills and develop a land ethic necessary to be responsible hunters and conservationists. As they grow up, they can in turn pass on the outdoor traditions of their youth to future generations.

Chapters themselves are an extremely instrumental component of PF's education mission at the grassroots level, with each typically holding youth mentor hunts and working with other local educational organizations to connect youth to conservation and the great outdoors.
